The tenth King of Gondor, son of Turambar and direct descendant of Elendil's second son Anárion.

The date of Atanatar's birth appears only in The History of Middle-earth volume XII, The Peoples of Middle-earth. It cannot therefore be considered completely reliable.

This is surely a reference to the Atanatári, the Fathers of Men of the First Age better known as the Edain, from whom the line of the Kings of Gondor was directly descended.
