Ar-Feiniel

The White Lady

The surname given Aredhel, the daughter of Fingolfin, and sister to Fingon and Turgon. She was given the name in Valinor, and it referred to her pale skin and to the fact that she chose to dress in white and silver. She was originally simply the White Lady of the Noldor, but after she returned with that people to Middle-earth, she went to dwell in Gondolin with her brother Turgon. After that point, she is known as the White Lady of Gondolin.
