DragonetsNewly hatched DragonsThe origins of the first Dragons are not clearly explained, but it seems clear that they were somehow created by Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, in the depths of Angband. These Dragons were evidently able to breed, and at least some of them favoured communal breeding grounds such as the Withered Heath in the Grey Mountains. Like lesser reptiles, these later generations produced eggs, and from those eggs hatched young known as Dragonets. Little is known about the nature of these Dragonets, but they were said to lack the thick armour that covered most of the hide of adult Dragons. Notes
