King of Arda

The most powerful of the Valar

A title given to Manwë Súlimo, greatest of the Valar, and held to be the ruler of the realm of Arda. Also titled the High King of Arda, Manwë ruled the entire world from his halls on the great mountain of Taniquetil in the West. He rarely intervened directly in events in Middle-earth, but was brought constant news of events there through spirits in the forms of Eagles and of hawks.
