Lady of Rivendell

A title of Arwen Evenstar

An occasional title given to Arwen the daughter of Elrond, in use at least among the Northern Dúnedain and presumably more widely. It seems reasonable to assume that the same title would historically have been applied to Arwen's mother Celebrían, but at the time of the War of the Ring, Celebrían had long since passed into the West, and Arwen would have been the sole Lady of Rivendell for more than five hundred years.

Arwen dwelt in Rivendell until III 3019 when, after the War of the Ring, she departed to wed Aragorn in Minas Tirith. The title of 'Lady of Rivendell' would therefore likely have fallen out of use after that date. Arwen herself lived on for more than a century after the War, eventually travelling to the deserted land of Lórien where she gave up her mortal life.
