Olofantur

Master of visions and dreams

An old name for the Vala better known as Lórien, referring to his role in the sending of visions and phantasms. This name derives from the Elvish root olo-, meaning a dream vision of an especially vivid and realistic form, such as those created through the Elvish art of karmë. Lórien's brother Mandos had a related name in Nurufantur, though in later references the names Olofantur and Nurufantur appear as Irmo and Námo, respectively.
