SiriondilThe father of Eärnil II
A lesser member of the Royal House of Gondor, who could trace his ancestry back to King Telumehtar Umbardacil (Siriondil was descended from Telumehtar's younger son Arciryas). The connection of Siriondil's line to the Kings became crucially important in the year III 1944, when King Ondoher and both his sons were lost in battle, leaving Gondor without a direct heir. Siriondil's son Eärnil had played a vital role in overcoming Gondor's enemies, and due to his royal descent, he was granted the Crown. Notes
