GirithronA month from the calendars of MenMonths of the year The Sindarin name for the cold twelfth month of the year, following Hithui and preceding Mettarë, the last day of the year. On a modern calendar, Girithron ran between 21 November and 20 December. The name Girithron was used in the calendars of the Dúnedain, while the Quenya equivalent was Ringarë the 'cold' month. Girithron is only an oblique translation of the Quenya name; it incorporates the word girith, meaning 'shivering'. Notes
