The first slaying of Elf by Elf, in which the followers of Fëanor, seeking vessels to make the passage from Valinor to Middle-earth, assaulted the Teleri in their haven of Alqualondë.

The Annals of Aman (in volume X of The History of Middle-earth) lists the Kinslaying as occurring in Valian Year 1495. That would place it directly after the Darkening of Valinor, and approximately 48 (solar) years before the first rising of the Moon and the Sun.
