The peerless glittering light that shone from the Two Trees and filled Valinor before its Darkening. The light of Telperion was silver, and that of Laurelin was golden, and each Tree waxed and waned in power over seven hours. So, as a day passed in Valinor, the land would be full of silver light or of gold or, twice each day, a mingled light of both. Notes
