We do not have a precise date for the construction of the Light-tower, but we know that it was built shortly before Aldarion's betrothal to Erendis, which took place in II 858. We have no information at all about how long it stood on Tol Uinen; at the extreme, it might have survived until the Downfall of II 3319, in which it would definitely have been destroyed.

The exact location of the Light-tower is unknown. We're told that it stood on the island of Tol Uinen, and that that island lay somewhere in the bay of Rómenna, but we have no map to show us precisely where the island was located. Rómenna was a busy port city, so it was unlikely to have had an island blocking its narrower reaches, and on that basis the map shown here places Tol Uinen in the widest part of the bay.
