Shadow-menThe Dead of the Haunted MountainThe name used, at least among the people of the Morthond Vale, for the cursed shades of the Men of the Mountains, who haunted the Paths of the Dead beneath the White Mountains. They were said at times to leave their mountain homes and gather around the Stone of Erech, and it was there that Aragorn brought them during the War of the Ring.
