Stock RoadThe road through the Green Hill Country![]() The road that ran eastwards from Tuckborough across the hilly region of the Shire known as the Green Hill Country. It passed on through three farthings (the West-, South- and Eastfarthings) before it entered the trees above Woody End. From there, it descended in a long northerly loop past the Yale to reach Stock on the eastern borders of the Shire. Frodo and Sam took the Stock Road on Frodo's last journey from Bag End. At the edge of the woods of Woody End, they met Elrond and his companions, including old Bilbo. Together they rode westward to the Grey Havens, where the Ring-bearers set out on their final journey from Middle-earth.
