Valinorean

The tongue of the Elves of Valinor

An occasional name for the language more usually referred to as Quenya, the Ancient Tongue spoken by the Elves in Valinor. Quenya was rarely spoken in Middle-earth, where Sindarin was the pre-eminent Elvish language. Nonetheless, it was known among the High Elves who had dwelt in Valinor, like Galadriel, as well as loremasters and students of language among Elves and Men.
