RodynThe last day of the Sindarin weekOne of two names in Sindarin for the sixth and last day of the Elves' week. The alternative name was Orbelain, and both mean approximately 'Day of the Powers', dedicating the day to the Valar. Actually Rodyn is simply a Sindarin word for 'Powers', so it perhaps represents an abbreviated form of a longer original name. In Quenya, the same day was known as Valanya or Tárion. Notes
